Private Lessons are opportunities to work one-on-one with a trainer. These sessions are often used to deal with specific issues, but can also be used to develop and refine a specialized skill through focused attention & practice.

Want to know more about how we train? Not sure you want to work with us yet?
Let's meet and determine your next steps for training.
This is where most dogs start. Suitable for puppies, rescues or anyone looking for a refresher course. We'll establish/refine the following skills: name recognition, sit, down, come, follow and stay. Emphasis is on establishing clear consistent communication and feedback between handler and dog.
In a series of structured exercises we will deconstruct your walk and teach all the elements individually. Then we start putting the pieces together by practicing short walks where we go through doors, stop at sidewalks, and stop for a quick hello with a passer-by.
Starting with recall from just a few feet away you'll quickly progress by adding distance and distractions in the forms of food, toys and other dogs. Since "come" is often used for safety reasons, this course emphasizes prevention of failed recalls and sets you up for success.
Our comprehensive Agility course teaches you to start shaping new behaviours and then lets you practice by introducing jumps, table, tunnels, weave poles, a-frame and dog-walk. All for fun, any skill level.
In this series, we add layers of complexity – like distance and duration- to the skills learned in Basic Obedience. We also teach Stand, Stay vs. Wait, and Leave It, and Heel. We also work on a longer Sit/Stay & Down/Stay with classmates near by.
Combining the skills of Obedience and Agility, Rally-O uses directional signs to run through a numbered course within an allotted time. Attitude & Teamwork are the most important elements for this fun sport.
As a graduate of our Agility instructional series, you're granted Agility Club membership. You can now book your spot where the fun goes to a new level with a new course each week, and lots of runtime.
As a graduate of our Leash Manners course, you're granted Walking Club membership. Our group walks are opportunities to take our skills to different outdoor locations. We will be practicing stops & starts, turns, passing/greeting humans, passing/greeting(?) dogs. Environmental distractions (bikes, birds, squirrels, children, etc) will also be helpful in strengthening our leash walking skills.
As a graduate of our Rally-Obedience course, you're granted Rally-O Club membership. You will be invited to a mock Rally-O trial where you can "compete" with other dog/handler teams. We will host a mock trial periodically throughout the year. This is great practice to keep your obedience skills sharp, for fun or for a CKC sponsored trial.
